BRAVO VS. CAMELION FOR MINPROBA TITLE IN PANABO SEPT. 16

DAVAO CITY – Bagobo boxer Michael “Chieftain” Bravo will be fighting Michael Camelion of Bukidnon for the vacant Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (MinProba) light flyweight title on September 16 at the Panabo City Gym.
Bravo is a Bagobo native from North Cotabato. But he is now based in Panabo City under the MB Northstar Boxing Promotions. Bravo (11 wins-1 loss-0 draw, 4 KOs) previously scored a 3rd round technical knockout against Ian Ligutan last December 17 in Gensan.
Bravo suffered his lone defeat from the hands of Niero Saldon via a unanimous decision in 2014 in Mandaluyong City. Bravo then bounced back with six straight wins including three by knockouts.
“Matagal ko nang hinihintay itong pagkakataon na ito na lumaban ng championship,” said the 24-year old Bravo, who turned pro in 2013.
Bravo thanked his new manager Engr. Jilson Basang, also the current president of MinProba, for giving him the chance to fight for the championship.
Camelion, on the other hand, has already fought but lost for the vacant WBA Pan Pacific light flyweight title against Omari “Lion Boy” Kimweri by a unanimous decision in 2016 at The Melbourne Pavilion in Flemington, Australia.
Camelion, who is handled by MinProba PRO Wowie Lalanto of Cagayan de Oro is now toting 8 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw with 6 KOs. The 22-year old Camelion previously lost by a 5th round technical knockout to John Rementizo last May 27 in Valencia City.
Camelion last won in 2015 against Rey Morano via an 8th round TKO in Iligan City. He also beat Bravo’s former stablemate Orlie Silvestre by knocking him down once in the 9th round to score a split decision in that same year in Gensan.
The Bravo-Camelion title fight is one of the exciting bouts in the “Redemption: Clash of Champions” boxing promotion held in coordination with the Barangay Council of Panabo.
“Proceeds will be used for the various developmental projects of Purok Kristine Village,” said matchmaker Engr. Ricardo “Bong” Javier.
The boxing card is co-presented by Panabo City under Mayor Engr. James Gamao and the PS Solutions of Ralph Garreth Peterson.
