BRAWL AT THE MALL: RETURN OF GENSAN'S FINEST DEC. 4

THE Sanman Promotions will have its year-ending boxing presentation on December 4 at the Robinson’s Mall in General Santos City.

It is billed as the “Brawl at the Mall: Return of Gensan’s Finest” featuring two of Gensan’s finest southpaws –Randy “Razor” Petalcorion and Eden “Mr. Showboat” Sonsona.

Petalcorin (24-2-1-18 KOs) is a former WBA world light flyweight champion while Sonsona (34-6-2-12 KOs) is a former WBC International Silver super featherweight title-holder.

“It will be Randy’s first fight in Gensan in five years,” said Sanman Chief Executive Officer Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil.

The24-year old Petalcorin will be fighting for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific light flyweight title.

“We’re still waiting for the approval to confirm his opponent,” said Manangquil.

In his last fight, Petalcorin beat former Philippine flyweight champion Donny Mabao via a unanimous decision last September 27 in Iligan City.

Sonsona, on the other hand, will face former Philippine super lightweight champion Eusebio “Raging Bull” Baluarte (19-17-0-12 KOs) of Valencia, Bukidnon.

Sonsona last fought 17 months ago when he won the vacant WBC International Silver super featherweight crown vila 2^nd round technical knockout win against Adrian Estrella in Mexico on May 16, 2015.

The 27-year old Sonsona also won the vacant Philippine bantamweight title via a 1^st round knockout against Monico Laurente last December 12, 2009 in Pasig City.

Sonsona made an impressive performance in his first fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto fight when he stopped Eilon Kedem (10-2-4) in 17 seconds of the 2^nd round.

Sonsona also won in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey title-fight held at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas by knocking out in the 8^th round Mauricio Pastrana (34-12-2) last March 13, 2010.

But Sonsona also fought but lost for the WBO NABO super bantamweight championship by a 9^th round knockout against Jonathan Oquendo in Puerto Rico last July 10, 2010.

“Sonsona has started his training at the gym last September,” said Manangquil.

The final card of the “Brawl at the Mall: Return of Gensan’s Finest” will be announced next week by Sanman Promotions.
