Superb World Boxing Council Super lighteight Champion, José Carlos Ramírez, will face another excellent Super light Champion, and compatriot Maurice Hooker, in a gripping unification match this Saturday at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
“I am really looking forward to showing all of my diverse skills to the people of Texas. Going to new places is part of being a superstar and that’s what I want to become. In order to make a unification fight, I had to come to Maurice’s backyard but I am looking forward to using this opportunity. I want to make you all proud. My team knows I am ready, I know I am ready.” insists Ramírez.
Hooker said: “This fight means everything for me. I hope Jose is totally ready. I will be the champion. I don’t want to bet on eating Whataburger. Let’s bet on breakfast in the morning with my belts. I’m pumped about this fight being home in Dallas. Jose is good fighter and he’s come ready to fight. I’m ready to get in the ring and conquer the green and gold belt of the WBC.”
This Friday both fighters went face to face for the last time, before climbing into the ring. At the official weigh-in, Ramirez was 139.4 pounds, while Hooker recorded 139.5 pounds.
