Brian Moore makes his first appearance under the Bellator banner as a bantamweight in Birmingham on May 4 when he takes on promotional newcomer Binh Son Le.

Bellator confirmed the fight to MMA Fighting on Friday.

Moore (11-7-0) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Noad Lahat at Bellator 210. “The Pikeman” showcased his power in the fight, dropping Lahat early on, but unfortunately broke both of his hands over the 15 minutes. The Israeli featherweight regained control of the contest to earn the judges’ nod.

The Wexford native hasn’t shied away from the sternest of challenges with Bellator. Although he is currently 2-3 under the banner, his losses have only come against top tier featherweights. Two of his defeats came after he stood in on short notice against Daniel Weichel and A.J. McKee, and many believe the SBG fighter gave the young prospect one of the toughest tests of his career when they clashed at Bellator 187. The Birmingham event marks the first time Moore has competed at bantamweight since his 2014 loss to Marat Pekov under the Cage Warriors banner.

Son Le (5-2-0, 1 NC) is coming off a decision loss to Oleg Lichkovakha at M-1 Challenge 82, which was later overturned to a no-contest when the Lithuanian tested positive for a banned substance. In his last outing before that, he suffered a majority decision loss to Ukrainian Aleksander Doskalchuk, which snapped a three-fight winning streak for the Sweden-based bantamweight.

The M-1 Challenge veteran’s only other loss came against Shamal Tashkilot in his sole outing under the Cage Warriors banner.
