In a thrilling action battle between two fantastic Japanese stars, multiple-division world champion Kazuto Ioka (26-2, 15 KO’s) brilliantly outclassed, dropped, and stopped his aggressive and decorated compatriot Kosei Tanaka (15-1, 9 KO’s) in eight exciting chapters to successfully retain for a second time his WBO Super Flyweight World Title on New Year’s Eve in Tokyo Japan.
More technical and resourceful, Ioka brilliantly counterpunched the heavy-handed Tanaka with accuracy, dishing out fluid and creative attacks to the head and body, devastating the younger three-weigh-class champion with picture-perfects left hooks to the chin that a baffled and damaged Tanaka, crushing him.
Two times Kazuto Ioka rocked down Kosei Tanaka to the blue canvas, wonderfully ending him at the 1 minute 35 second mark in frame eight.
A rematch against Filipino four-division world champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes (42-1-5, 23 KO’s) could be next?
