Bronco aims to buck Telemundo foe Friday

By Fightnews.com

Veteran Guadalupe “Bronco” Rosales (34-12,18 KOs) will goes heads up with countryman Antonio “Toño” Morán (21-2, 14 KOs) this Friday. The 10 round lightweight bout will be the Telemundo main event with the vacant WBO Latino title at stake. The site will be the Auditorio Blackberry in Mexico City, Mexico.

Rosales was a hot prospect in the mid-2000s and has fought multiple future world champions along the way. He is taking this fight on very short notice but took this chance to get back into world title contention. He just beat an unbeaten prospect in his last fight and looks to carry that momentum into the ring versus Morán.

Please describe your style for those who may not have seen you fight in a while?

I am a toe-to-toe fighter. I am all about getting in there and mixing it up.

Where does the nickname “Bronco” come from?

My fighting style has been very head on like a bronco since my professional debut. I have been called that for years now. I was given the name by my family.

How is your conditioning heading into this fight on short notice?

I just fought not too long ago and I am still in good shape and ready to fight.

What do you know about Morán?

I don’t know much. I am barely seeing his videos now. I was the underdog my last fight vs an unbeaten Puerto Rican fighter Emanuel Colon. He even had a weight advantage on me but I still pulled off the upset. I am very confident heading into this fight versus Morán.

What would a win do for you career on Friday?

I am confident that I will win this fight. Morán is very beatable from what I have seen of him. This victory will immediately put me in position for bigger fights.
