Former heavyweight champion, Australian Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne, did a good job of knocking out Samoan Junior Pati in the fifth round this Saturday night in the main event of a billboard that took place in the AMI Netball Center, St Johns, New Zealand.
Browne controlled the pace of the fight and knocked Pati down with a left hook and uppercut combination in the fifth round. Pati dropped to the canvas and did not seem to have exceeded the count of referee Lance Revill. Browne’s record advanced to 27-1 (24 KO) and claimed the silver title of the WBC Asian Boxing Council.
“I’m happy with how the fight was. I had a lot of support here and the atmosphere was tremendous, “Browne said. “I knew when I caught him with that uppercut he would not get up any more,” Lucas commented.
