An injury to heavyweight contender Ben Rothwell has given No. 7-ranked Travis Browne a shot at redemption on September 10 in Cleveland, as he meets up with former world champion Fabricio Werdum in the co-main event of UFC 203.
The two first met in April of 2014, with Werdum winning a five-round decision over “Hapa.” The victory earned Werdum a world title shot that he made good on by defeating Mark Huntfor the interim heavyweight crown at UFC 180. The Brazilian went on to defeat Cain Velasquez for the undisputed title in June of 2015, but lost the belt to Stipe Miocic in May. Browne, who has scored knockouts in each of his last five wins, is looking to bounce back from a July loss to Velasquez.
In the main event of UFC 203, which takes place at Quicken Loans Arena, hometown hero Stipe Miocic defends his UFC heavyweight title for the first time against Alistair Overeem.
