Fabiana Bytyqi dramatically defended her WBC Women’s Youth Minimumweight Championship, in front of 2,000 fans in Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic) by forcing her challenger Teodora Bacheva to retire after the seventh round.
The 20-year-old local hero clearly dominated the rematch against the tough Bulgarian. Bytyqi, showing from the opening bell, that she’s learned a lot from their last meeting, which she won by a very close and controversial decision.
In an entertaining fight, the Czech starlet used her height and reach advantage well, applying pressure with her jab and landing solid combinations from the outside. Bacheva intrepidly kept on moving forward, but got caught with precise counter punches whenever she came too close.
After seven rounds two judges scored the bout 70-63 while the third had it 68-66, all in favor of Bytyqi. Bacheva retired on the stool with an elbow injury.
