Former two-time UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez attended his first ever WWE event on Sunday, sitting ringside with teammate and friend Daniel Cormier to watch the Elimination Chamber at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
The pay-per-view featured none other than ex-UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey, who signed her WWE contract after slamming Triple H through a table in the middle of the ring.
Velasquez, who was donning a Mexican wrestling mask, seemed to enjoy the event and even entertained the idea of a pro-wrestling match against WWE superstar Brock Lesnar.
The 35-year-old called out Lesnar on social media.
Velasquez, who trains out of San Jose, California at American Kickboxing Academy, TKO’d Lesnar to win the UFC heavyweight championship back in 2010, beating the wrestling powerhouse from pillar-to-post in the UFC 121 main event.
Lesnar, 40, is currently contracted to WWE but is rumored to be making a return to the Octagon in 2018.
UFC president Dana White recently tweeted a photo of himself alongside Lesnar with the smiley face emoji, hinting that the WWE Universal Champion could be in talks for another MMA fight.
Velasquez, of course, is more likely to rematch Lesnar in the Octagon than the WWE ring. The Mexican-American has been sidelined with injuries for almost two years but is expected to make his comeback later this year.
