Can Xu will make the third defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) Featherweight Championship next Saturday, July 31st against Leigh Wood in Brentwood, England.
Matchroom Boxing announced the Chinese fighter’s appearance at the Fight Camp, a project that takes place at the promoter’s mansion and features great fights and lots of talent from around the world.
Xu is one of the most impressive talents at 126 pounds. He boasts arguably the most overwhelming punching volume in the world today, is fearless, intelligent and his blow exchanges are sensational.
The native of Fuzhou, Nanchang, is 27 years old and has already made his debut in the United States, where he has had several sensational victories. England will be a new venue for him and a great opportunity to introduce himself to a new market.
His opponent will be Wood, a 32-year-old British veteran who is a former WBO European champion. He has a new opportunity to become a world champion and he plans to take advantage of it with a victory that will launch him internationally.
Both will be fighting for the crown in this great event, which will also feature WBA Continental Welterweight Champion Conor Benn vs. Adrian Granados.
Xu comes with a record of 18 wins, 2 losses, and 3 KOs, while Wood has a record of 24 wins, 2 losses, and 14 KOs.
