Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KO’s) and (35-2, 29 KO’s) visited Los Angeles, California, on the last stop of their promotional tour before their fight on May 4th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. They will be competing for the super middleweight championship of the World Boxing Association (WBA), in addition to the WBC and IBF belts.
“I know Jacobs is a difficult opponent and he comes to work, but I’ve always believed that if you’re the best, you have to beat the best, and I love the challenges,” Alvarez said on his turn at the microphone.
“I want people to get a good experience when they come to see my fights. I can lose, but my heart is a winning heart and I want to give the fans a spectacular end, to whom I promise a good fight,” said the Mexican.
“I have the will and the desire to enter that ring and be victorious, and I see myself with my hands up at the end of the night,” Jacobs said before the most important fight of his career.
“I know that the bets are against me and that the resume of Canelo speaks for itself, but he has never faced a tall, fast and big man at the same time and that is what I am going to give him. We’re going to give you what you’re looking for and the fans will have a great fight on May 4th,” said the son of Brooklyn, New York.
For Canelo it will be the first defense of the gold and black belt that he won from Gennady Golovkin in September of 2018, and in the case of Jacobs, he wants to return to the WBA family, where he was champion from 2014-2017.
