Canelo felt tired at the end of his fight with Golovkin

The man from Guadalajara, who retained his IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight titles, explained that the reason for this situation was the difficulty of training hard, as he had planned, which hampered his performance in the ring in the closing rounds of their trilogy fight.

“I think towards the end of the fight I obviously started to feel a little bit fatigued.

“And that’s because we haven’t been able to work explosively in the gym.

“But this fight, with the problems we had, I’m very happy with my performance,” Álvarez said.

Golovkin, threw 34 more punches overall than Álvarez, but it was only 8 power punches in the first eight rounds, a lower average than the Mexican, who landed almost twice as many power punches overall.
