It didn’t take long for Saul Canelo Alvarez to respond to Gennady Golovkin’s commercial advert that he posted earlier on Tuesday, showing his trainer Abel Sanchez eating steak and giving view on the secrets of developing “super human power.”
Earlier today, Canelo posted on his Twitter, saying that Golovkin can’t live without him, but he then deleted the post a short while later.
Sanchez seems to be taking over the trash talking for Golovkin. Sanchez has a way of getting Canelo upset every time he speaks. I think Canelo genuinely dislikes Sanchez and would like nothing better than to shut him up for good. Unfortunately, the only way Canelo can do that is to beat Golovkin. He doesn’t seem to know how to do that. Canelo was running from Golovkin for 12 rounds last September and was given what was seen as a gift 12 round draw by the three judges at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
”No draw,” Golovkin said on his Twitter in positing his video of his Jordan commercial that sent a no so subtle shot at Canelo.
“Super human power requires a special ingredient. It’s called dedication,” Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez said in the new Jordan commercial.
This was Sanchez appearing to kick sand in the face of Canelo for his contaminated meat excuse after his two positive tests for the PED clenbuterol from last February.
Here’s Canelo’s response to Golovkin:
”I know you miss me. You can’t live without me,” Canelo said to Golovkin on his social media on Tuesday.
This is not the right time for Canelo to be responding to Golovkin on social media. Canelo has a meeting with the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Wednesday for them to decide on a likely suspension for him. It won’t look good for Canelo if the Commission sees him going back and forth with Golovkin on social media. It would be better for Canelo to take the high road right now and show maturity. The last thing Canelo needs to do is give the appearance of someone that is bitter and angry. After all, Golovkin isn’t the one that tested positive for clenbuterol.
Golovkin doesn’t want to move on and forget about Canelo, which might be the best thing for both after the controversy of their previous fight last September. Golovkin wants the rematch with Canelo to show the boxing world that he’s the better fighter of the two. Golovkin says he’s going to make sure there’s no doubt next time who the better fighter is of the two. The only way Golovkin can do that is by knocking Canelo out.
There’s a chance that Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) will fight on May 5 against Vanes Martirosyan at the StubHub Arena in Carson, California.
