By WBCboxing.com

The World Boxing Council middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, has signed a contract of several years involving eleven  fights, for 365 million dollars with the DAZN network, securing the most important sports contract in Boxing.

The first bout of this deal will take place on December 15, when “Canelo” climbs to the  168 pounds division to challenge Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden in New York.

His  contract with HBO expired last month, shortly after the network announced its intention to abandon boxing by the end of the year.

The international DAZN  network reached an agreement with Oscar de la Hoya, of Golden Boy, so that at least eleven Canelo fights are transmitted by the organization, in a link that will last until 2023. It is a multi million  contract that has became the richest of history, surpassing  the one signed by the baseball player Giancarlo Stanton, who in 2014 reached an agreement with the Miami Marlins to renew for 13 years for 325 million dollars.

DAZN is a streaming service that belongs to Perform Group. Its  service is dedicated to sports, offering broadcasts of live events and on demand from several properties. It was launched for the first time in Austria, Germany, Japan, Switzerland and Canada. It is anticipated  that it will soon arrive to the  American market.
