“Canelo” strong candidate for ‘Boxer of the Year’ if he defeats Fielding

World Boxing Council middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, will be a firm candidate for the WBC´s “Boxer of the Year 2018” if he defeats Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden in New York Saturday night.

This was mentioned in Mexico City by World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman at the premiere of Creed II starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone.

“If Canelo defeats Fielding for the Super Middleweight title, he could be named Boxer of the Year, because he would conquer his third world belt in a different division,” said Mauricio.
