Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin are set to square off Saturday in a battle of the two best middleweights on the planet.

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin are battling for the unified middleweight championship of the world from the sold-out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas — in what many fans expect to be the best fight of 2017 and an all-time classic — and Sporting News has all the results you need.

Be sure to follow along below with all the latest news, notes and results from tonight’s “Supremacy” bout.

All times eastern.

Canelo vs. GGG results

Joseph Diaz Jr. vs. Rafael Rivera

9:41 p.m.: 100-90, and 98-92, so there’s that.

Diego De La Hoya defeats Randy Caballero via unanimous decision

9:40 p.m.: This fight comes, mercifully, to an end. If it isn’t a unanimous decision by way of De La Hoya, it’ll be a shock. Should be a shutout.

9:34 p.m.: It’s the ninth round, and this fight is still going. Really feels like forever, to be honest.

9:29 p.m.: Lederman has a clean sweep through seven rounds for De La Hoya. That’s about right.

9:23 p.m.: We’re entering the seventh round now, and I’m a little surprised that it’s even heading there.

9:16 p.m.: Apparently De La Hoya rehydrated to 136 (weigh-in weight was 122), so he’s got about a 10 pound advantage on Caballero. Yikes.

9:13 p.m.: Max Kellerman saying it’s noticeable that this is GGG’s first time on a big stage. Not sure what that means, if anything, but it’s interesting to hear.

9:06 p.m.: Jim Lampley throwing some shade at McGregor vs. Mayweather, refusing to refer to it by name, and calling it a “recent event that took place at this arena.” Pretty great. Anyway, De La Hoya looks pretty good.

9:02 p.m.: So far, De La Hoya is bringing it to Caballero.

8:55 p.m.: Randy Caballero vs. Diego De La Hoya now, the first cousin of Oscar. You may have heard of him.

8:54 p.m.: Imagine seeing this smile before getting decked in the face. Repeatedly.

8:53 p.m.: Ryan Martin wins via split decision, and yes, it was close. A one-point split decision win. 98-91 in favor of Rojo. That’s a ridiculous score. Onward.

Ryan Martin defeats Francisco Rojas via split decision

8:49 p.m.: This should be Martin’s fight but something tells me it’s going to be close.

8:44 p.m.: Ref stops the fight and finally deducts a point for Martin low blow. He was going way below the belt, too. Four or five inches.

8:42 p.m.: Ref stops the fight twice and warns Martin twice for low blows but doesn’t deduct a point. OK, then.

8:37 p.m.: Be sure to check out all of our latest newsclips at the bottom regarding Canelo and GGG!

8:33 p.m.: Martin’s performance is getting universally panned on Twitter, which is fair. He hasn’t looked sharp.

8:29 p.m.: Rojo looks a little spent, getting a little tired. Probably from all the power punches he threw in the early rounds. Martin starting to land a bit more now.

8:25 p.m.: Martin looks like a fighter but isn’t particularly fighting like one, if that makes sense, through four rounds.

8:21 p.m.: Martin didn’t look as good in Round 3. Leaving himself open to lots of body work.

8:18 p.m.: Martin controlling the bout early, as Rojo is trying to put some real damage on him. Rojo has thrown over 60 power punches so far.

8:10 p.m.: Feel-out round, as per usual. Rojo trying to land some power punches and work the body for the much taller Martin.

8:07 p.m.: Martin is a 5-11 lightweight. Jeez.

8:02 p.m.: Just told that the first fight of the night is Martin vs. Rojo. Time to get it on.

8:00 p.m.: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SN’s coverage of Canelo vs. GGG “Supremacy.” We’re in for a real slobberknocker, a rocketbuster, a barnburner and all those other fun things. Be sure to follow along with all of the latest updates right here, throughout the night.

7:46 p.m.: And beer.

7:45 p.m.: Just 15 minutes away from the start of the PPV, make sure you get the pizza and chicken orders in.

7:24 p.m.: Just over a half hour until the potential fight of the year.

7:13 p.m.: Anyone else forget Billy Joe Saunders was fighting tonight?

7:00 p.m.: Undercard action happening now, and you can check those results below.

6:39 p.m.: Getting closer to opening bell. Still hard to believe this is happening.

5:11 p.m.: Yikes. (You can read more about Golovkin vs. Brook here.)

4:19 p.m.: Oh man.

3:56 p.m.: You and all the fight fans in the world, Mr. Golovkin.

3:50 p.m.: Hard to disagree, Canelo.

Canelo vs. GGG preview

Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Gennadyavich Golovkin is a fight two years in the making. Canelowon the WBC middleweight title from Miguel Cotto back in Nov. 2015. Then promoter Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions, was reluctant to make the fight with “Triple G.”

Canelo’s camp wanted more time for Alvarez to grow into being a true 160-pound fighter, but the whispers in boxing said De La Hoya didn’t want his golden goose to be in any danger of losing a fight.

Fans grew impatient, but wrongs were righted May 2016, when Canelo knocked out Amir Khanand called Golovkin into the ring. Canelo said he was ready to fight. De La Hoya puffed out his chest and said he would talk with Golovkin’s manager/advisor Tom Loeffler, famously telling him to have his phone ready.

Boxing fans were overjoyed and relieved that the Canelo vs. GGG fight was in the works, but the fight De La Hoya had teased was still far away: A verbal agreement was allegedly in place for a Sept. 2017 date. Fans doubted “The Golden Boy,” not wanting to wait another 15 months for the fight between two of the hardest punchers in the sport.

Golovkin trudged on, knocking former welterweight champion Kell Brook last September and winning by unanimous decision over former 160-pound titleholder Daniel Jacobs in March. Canelo matched Golovkin by knocking out Liam Smith (also in Sept. 2016) to win the WBO junior middleweight title. He followed by dominating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in May.

Now, Canelo will take on Golovkin for Triple G’s IBF/WBA/WBC middleweight titles in the real fight of 2017.
