Former middleweight titleholder and longtime contender David Lemieux’s fight with Tureano Johnson, set for tomorrow night’s Canelo-Rocky card at Madison Square Garden, has been scrapped, with Lemieux reportedly suffering from “weight-related dehydration” ahead of today’s weigh-ins in New York.

Lemieux (40-4, 34 KO) has already been mentioned as a possible May 4 opponent for Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KO), who plans to return to 160 pounds and defend his titles there after a one-off fight at 168 against Rocky Fielding.

But this is hardly the first time that Lemieux has struggled with the weight at 160, and there have been calls for him to move up for years. Most recently, he missed weight for a fight this past May with Karim Achour, though that one went on. Lemieux won a decision.

Lemieux last fought on Sept. 15 on the Canelo-GGG undercard in Las Vegas, knocking out Spike O’Sullivan in the first round.
