Canelo Alvarez returns to action tonight, facing Liam Smith at AT&T Stadium.
Tonight at 9 pm ET, HBO pay-per-view will go live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, and so will our live coverage of the full Canelo-Smith broadcast, headlined, of course, by Canelo Alvarez challenging Liam Smith for the WBO junior middleweight title.
Alvarez (47-1-1, 33 KO) is the clear favorite in the fight, with Smith (23-0-1, 13 KO) a still-untested fighter at a higher level, even though he does have that belt. Should Alvarez win as expected, he is believed to be returning to the ring in December, where he’ll likely face the winner of the co-feature between Gabriel Rosado (23-9, 13 KO) and Willie Monroe Jr (20-2, 6 KO).
The card will also feature featherweight prospect Joseph Diaz Jr (21-0, 12 KO) against Andrew Cancio (17-3, 13 KO), and super bantamweight prospect Diego De La Hoya (15-0, 9 KO) taking on Luis Orlando del Valle (22-2, 16 KO).

Round 1: Diego wins this round easily, doesn’t get much back from Del Valle, who stumbles at one point, but it’s a balance issue more than being hurt by anything. De La Hoya 10-9
