
Canoy lost to Tyirha by UD

DAVAO CITY – Light flyweight Joey “Singwangcha” Canoy of Gen. Santos City lost to Nhlanhla Tyirha of South Africa by a unanimous decision for the vacant World Boxing Association Inter-Continental light flyweight title last May 21 at the International Convention Centre in East London, South Africa.
The 27-year-old Canoy suffered his fifth setback against16 wins and one draw while Tyirha took his fifth win against one loss.
Meanwhile, Ayanda Ndulani won the International Boxing Organization World Minimum title over defending champion Nkosinathi Joyi by a knockout in the 4th round.
Joyi was overweight and already forfeited the title on the scales regardless of the result.
