CAPITAL! CAPITOL TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS IN MEXICO CITY

Mexico City Major Miguel Angel Mancera has Inaugurated the popular tournament Capitol of Champions 2016.
During the tournament , 730 amateur and professional fighters will clash in 368 matches starting this Saturday, concluding December 10. The tournament will be broadcast  by TV Azteca and it will be organized by Zanfer Promotions.

“Today, Mexico City is a Capitol  City of Sports. This strategy will keep being developed. We are very interested in reaching the most places possible in our city,”Mancera commented.

Miguel Angel Mancera also explained  that the strategy looks forward to promoting the sport in the 16 delegations of the city and in phase two its aim is to gain the participation of all neighborhoods.

“We are convinced that we need to rescue  youth. We are developing  a difficult task promoting  sport, but also trying to recuperate  public spaces, offering people the opportunity of practicing sports inside their own neighborhoods.”

He also stated that the professional fighters will compete  in the lightweight, bantamweight, flyweight and featherweight divisions; while the amateur fighters will clash in all divisions.

The first match of the tournament will take place on Saturday at the Juan de la Barrera Gym.

Mr. Mancera highlighted  and thanked the support of the World Boxing Council, TV Azteca and Zanfer Promotions for promoting and supporting this magnificent initiative.
