By Lito delos Reyes
Southpaw Jhunrick Carcedo of Davao City scored a 3rd round technical knockout against Antonio Siesmundo of Bohol to win the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific super lightweight title last July 23 at the Cogon Gym in Tagbilaran City.
Carcedo hit Siesmundo with right punches to send him down near the corner.
Siemundo tried to fight against Carcedo and tried his punch.
But he was again hit by Carcedo by a combination, forcing referee Jerrold Tomeldan to stop the fight.
“I’m super happy, this is the best moment of my life,” said the 23-year-old Carcedo.
He has eight wins, all by knockout against one loss.
Carcedo is accompanied by his manager Dexter Tan, Noli Chan and trainer Paul Apolinario.
Siesmundo suffered his fourth loss against eight wins.
The fight, dubbed as “Kumong Bol-anon 6”, was presented by the PMI Bohol Boxing Stable.
