It’s expected that Carl Frampton will be challenging IBF featherweight titleholder Josh Warrington in the next fight for both men, and Frampton is returning to familiar ground talk-wise ahead of that fight.

As he said before he fought Luke JacksonFrampton feels he’s a level above Warrington:

“(Warrington) is unbeaten and is full of confidence but I just feel — as I said going into the Jackson fight — that I am a level above Warrington. It has to be realized that Warrington’s best win has been against a weight-drained (Lee) Selby. Warrington still couldn’t get rid of him and I would also look back to the trouble he had with Kiko Martinez, who was done.”

Frampton (26-1, 15 KO) admits that it’s a tougher fight than he thought a year ago, but he’s making some solid, blogger-like points here. Selby wasn’t at his best when Warrington (27-0, 6 KO) beat him, and that was something of an upset. And Martinez was dominated by the likes of Leo Santa Cruz and Scott Quigg and Frampton himself before going to a majority decision with Warrington in May 2017.

So it makes sense. Of course, Frampton isn’t going to be dumb going in. He didn’t fight easy against Jackson, he tore into him and busted him up. Expect the same level of determination against Warrington, no matter how confident Frampton may feel.
