A pair of matchups between ranked contenders highlighted a slew of fight announcements made official by the UFC on Tuesday for Sept. 8 at UFC 228.

Chief among the announcements was a strawweight contest between former Invicta FC and UFC champion Carla Esparza (14-5) and undefeated The Ultimate Fighter 23 winner Tatiana Suarez (7-0). Also made official was a bantamweight bout between top-10 fighters Aljamain Sterling (14-3) and Cody Stamann (17-1), as well as a lightweight matchup between longtime UFC veteran Jim Miller (28-11, 1 NC) and Alex White (12-3).

UFC 228 takes place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The event is headlined by a pair of title fights, Tyron Woodley vs. Darren Till for the welterweight belt and Nicco Montano vs. Valentina Shevchenko for the women’s flyweight strap.
