Two more bouts are official for UFC Prague.
On Wednesday, officials announced a welterweight bout between Carlo Pedersoli Jr. (11-2) and Dwight Grant (8-2), and a lightweight bout between Damir Ismagulov (17-1) and Joel Alvarez (15-1) for the UFC’s upcoming trip to O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, on Feb. 23.
The Pedersoli-Grant bout was first reported by Sherdog, while Ismagulov-Alvarez was first reported by MMA DNA.
This past November, Pedersoli dropped to 1-1 in the UFC after stepping in on short notice to fight Alex Oliveira in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was also a short-notice replacement in his UFC debut, a split decision win over Brad Scott at UFC Liverpool. The 25-year-old is the grandson of Italian movie star Bud Spencer.
Grant earned his UFC contract with a knockout of Tyler Hill on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series before dropping a split decision in his debut against Zak Ottow at UFC on FOX 31.
Ismagulov, a former M-1 champion, made a successful UFC debut in December with a unanimous decision win over Alex Gorgees. The Kazakh fighter has won 12 straight fights. He will take on the debuting Alvarez, a 25-year-old Spanish prospect who is on a 10-fight win streak.
