Cataraja KOs Apolinario in 1st round

DAVAO CITY – Undefeated Kevin Jake “KJ” Cataraja of Cebu throws a left punch to stop John Mark Apolinario of Sarangani last Dec. 17 at the Sanman Gym in Gen. Santos City.

At first, Apolinario tried to mix with Cataraja by throwing some punches in the early minutes. But a solid left by Cataraja ended Apolinario.

Cataraja improves his record to 12 wins with 10 knockouts while Apolinario suffered his 14 defeats against 29 wins with three draws.

Four others also made their “debut” in Sanman and ZIP.

Featherweight Jeo “Santino” Santisima of Masbate knockout Marjon “The Journey” Piencenaves of Agusan del Norte in the 2nd round.

Minimumweight Melvin “Gringo” Jerusalem of Bukidnon stopped Jayson Francisco of Kidapawan City in the 2nd round.

Flyweight Esneth “Hard Hitter” Domingo knockout Gerald Alvarez of Cotabato in the 2nd round.

Light flyweight Regie Mananquil beat Rio Gulipatan of Cotabato by a unanimous decision in the six-rounder bout.

It’s the second bubble boxing event presented by the Sanman Boxing Promotion in coordination with Mhavic Kamiyama of ZIP.
