Chad Laprise is getting another chance to defend his home turf.
The Ultimate Fighter: Nations winner will fight Dhiego Lima in a welterweight bout at UFC 231 on Dec. 8 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, the promotion announced Saturday.
Prior to a knockout loss to Vicente Luque in his most recent fight, Laprise had won three consecutive bouts, two of which took place in Canada (Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Vancouver, British Columbia). The Ontario native is 2-1 since returning to the welterweight division and 13-3 overall as a professional.
Lima (12-7) is the only two-time TUF runner-up, having participated in both TUF 19 and the “Redemption” season in 2017. He is currently on a three-fight losing streak after dropping a unanimous decision to Yushin Okami at UFC on FOX 29 in April.
