Charles Oliveira gets quick turnaround, faces David Teymur at UFC Fortaleza

Charles Oliveira asked for a spot on the UFC Fortaleza card shortly after submitting Jim Miller at UFC on FOX 31 on Dec. 15, and he’s got it.

“Do Bronx” is set to meet David Teymur at the Centro de Formação Olímpica in Fortaleza, Brazil, on Feb. 2, the company announced Wednesday. Combate first reported the match-up.

Oliveira (25-8, 1 no-contest) finished three of his last four opponents since moving up to the lightweight division, surpassing Royce Gracie’s record for most submissions in UFC history. Oliveira submitted Clay GuidaChristos Giagos and Jim Miller over the last seven months.

Teymur (8-1) has won five in a row since signing with the UFC in 2016, including decision victories over Nik LentzLando Vannata and Drakkar Klose. The Swedish lightweight joined the promotion after competing on TUF 22, where he went 2-1 in unofficial bouts.

UFC Fortaleza will be headlined by a rematch between Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes.
