After two straight losses, super welterweight Omar “Businessman” Chavez got the win his father, ring legend Julio Cesar Chavez, and promoter Zanfer Promotions demanded on Saturday night at the Polideportivo Juan S. Millan Parque in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico.
Chávez (37-5-1, 24 KOs) had to work hard, but managed to get past Nicolas Luques Palacios (10-6, 1 KO) over ten rounds. All three judges had it 96-94 for Chavez.
Super lightweight Pedro “Roca” Campa (30-1, 20 KOs) scored a second round KO over Adrián Pérez (10-5, 8 KOs) in the co-feature.
