The former WBC middleweight champion, Julio César Chávez Jr., will have to wait to get back into the ring, as the scheduled bout against Alfredo Angulo was canceled, confirmed PBC on Monday.
Chávez Jr., a former WBC middleweight champion, was removed from the fight by his father Julio César Chávez and his team, arguing that he was not ready to return to the ring.
A few days ago it was announced that Julio had not completed the medical exams required to obtain a license to fight in California, as well as completing a rehabilitation process to deal with a substance abuse problem.
The former monarch was considered to be part of the undercard that starred next weekend full weights Deontay Wilder, United States, and Tyson Fury, England, for the WBC crown in Los Angeles, California.
