Building on the success of the World Boxing Council Conventions of Chengdu in 2008 and Kunming in 2015, China is seeking to expand and  increase its  reach,  while  boosting  the power of its grasp of boxing via  WBC know how, communication skills  and experience.

At the 55th WBC Convention in Baku, Azerbaijan, a Chinese  Delegation outlined sustainable success via outstanding progress.  There are already ten WBC competition centers in China and more than one hundred gyms, with free tutoring and trading for youth.

To further spark interest, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield visited China in August, following on, from the previous trips of Don Jose Sulaiman, who always showed great confidence in China, predicting that one day, it would evolve into a  considerable boxing force, providing amazing impetus to the sport.

China has already held national, intercontinental and international boxing championships.  It’s keen to offer another Convention to the WBC, in  the beautiful lakeside city of Hangzhou, which is a favorite and beautiful location.

A Chinese proverb come to mind, which advises: “Learning is a process that will follow its owner everywhere.”
