Crunch time, as Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez is poised to stirringly close his preparation at Big Bear, California.
His Trainer Arnulfo Obando, says the Champ has already polished off half of the scheduled sparring rounds panned and planned. Next he’ll be slimming, prior to the simmering.
Roman had a sparring session of 8 rounds ( 4 minutes each one) with his three sparring partners: The brothers Randy and Rommel Caballero, and the Mexican Alberto Guevara.
“We have planned to have 115-120 sparring rounds. For our past fights he had 170 rounds. But this particular strategy, is to not force him physically,” states Obando.
Gonzalez will close his training camp in Big Bear on September 3rd. The next day he travels to Los Angeles, addressing meticulous finishing touches, before he battles WBC super flyweight champion, Carlos Cuadras (115 pounds ) on September 10 at the Inglewood Forum.
