GL: How is everything going in preparation for your June 22nd American debut? Everything is going well. I‘m hungry for this fight and have been waiting for an opportunity to fight in the US my whole career. My training camp is structured into stages and for this fight I am going to take an extra step and will prepare in a special Olympic training Camp facility high in the mountains. I am working hard to put on a special and dominating performance over Tori Nelson on June 22nd.
GL: You’re going to be fighting Tori Nelson, you were front and center for her last fight, what do you think of here a as a fighter?
Christina Hammer: “Tori is a tough woman, world class but she is not on my level! Shields won easily but she didn’t dominate, I will show the world how it’s supposed to be done.”
GL: Is it your goal to be more dominant than Claressa was?
CH: “I want to introduce the real Christina Hamme to the US Boxing Fans. I believe my skills in the ring and the end results will speak for themselves.”
GL: What do you think of the fight with Claressa and Hanna Gabriels? How do you see that fight going?
CH: “That’s a real great fight! Gabriel’s movements is very good, better than Shields. The key for Shields is to cut off the ring and land combinations. I think it will be a close fight because Shields never has fought an opponent with good footwork and over all skills like Hanna.”
GL: Will you feel any extra pressure making you US debut in Claressa’s backyard?
CH: “No , it’s a good pressure that push me forward even more, motivates me to put on an impressive performance. There is a reason as to why I have been such a dominant champion. I am the queen of the Middleweight division and will show my ability on June 22nd.”
GL: What do you consider your biggest advantage going into June 22nd?
CH: “I have a lot experiences. I am. World Champion since 2010. I‘m tall, strong and I will use these assets to dominate Tori Nelson that’s my mission. I can’t wait to fight, it will be a great time and my first fight in USA.”
GL: Other than victory do you have a prediction?
CH: “I predict a world class performance that will show the fans who is the best female Middleweight in the world!”
GL: Is there anything you’d like to say in closing?
CH: “It will be a game changer year for women boxing. It´s our time to shine!!!”
