Chuko Diaz tops Gonzalez, Piña upsets Beltran

Unbeaten featherweight Carlos “Chuko” Díaz (21-0, 10 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over Samuel “Pana” Gonzalez (17-3, 11 KOs) on Saturday night at the Gimnasio Morelos de la Delegación Cuajimalpa in Mexico City. Diaz survived some rough moments in round five, but got things back under control and won 97-93, 97-93, 97-97.

In an upset, lightweight journeyman Francisco Gabriel Piña (18-12, 5 KOs) scored an eight round unanimous decision over two-time former world title challenger Miguel “Barreterito” Beltran (31-5, 21 KOs). Scores were 77-76, 77-75, 77-75.
