Hernandez Navarrete KO’d undefeated Thai Nawaphon Kaikanha in his own land, in three explosive rounds, to conquer the first world championship of his career, just 7 days after his compatriot, Rey Vargas won the WBC super bantamweight championship in Yorkshire, England.
“Churritos” said that although he would have loved to debut as champion in front of his fans, he knows that now as a champion he must fight whenever and wherever¨: “I have another great opportunity to demonstrate what I am capable of. Once again we will be traveling abroad to a star in a very difficult fight, but my experience and quality boxing will help me to return as champion, in order to fulfill my dream of defending my title in Mexico.”
Churritos heads the card along with fellow Mexican Ganigan “Maravilla” López, who’s defending his WBC light flyweight belt against undefeated Ken Shiro.
