Claressa “T-Rex” Shields is the first boxer ever, to become the undisputed champion in two weight divisions, in the modern alphabet era.
Claressa (11-0, 2KO`s) retains her WBC super welterweight Green and Gold Belt, and now has all the others in her arms including the IBF version, which was held by 34-year-old Canadian southpaw Marie-Eve Dicare (17-1).
That was until Claressa skillfully removed Marie-Eve`s undefeated mantle. Claressa showed steely determination, fighting for the first time as a pro, in her hometown of Flint in Michigan.
At the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center, to her credit, Claressa dominated all ten rounds, to win 100-90 on all three Judges` cards. What a balance sheet sweep!
A real triumph for the 25-year-old, who was also a double Olympic Medalist, before embarking on her brilliantly successful pro career. It positions her at the zenith.
Already an undisputed middleweight champion, Claressa has now won the super welterweight undisputed accolade. So…what’s next?
