CM Punk on UFC 225 loss: ‘I’m 1-1 this week and I’ll take it!’

CM Punk lost his second MMA bout at UFC 225, and once again, it was a pretty one-sided affair. While they were technically both 0-1 as professional fighters, Mike Jackson has had professional experience competing in both boxing and kickboxing. This clearly showed on Saturday night.

Punk was left bloody and battered, before exiting the cage and being sent to the hospital after his 15-minute contest. According to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, the former WWE star was discharged shortly after and found to not have any injuries from the match.

He also seems to be in high spirits after the loss, taking to social media to issue a brief statement.

@CMPunk

You win some, you lose some! I’m 1-1 this week and I’ll take it! Thanks to my team, my family, my friends, and THE FANS! Wouldn’t be here without any of you. Respect to @TheTruthJackson, thanks for the fight! You only live once, and… I’M ALIVE!

Punk is referring to a win he had in court earlier in the week. Just four days before UFC 225, he won a case against a doctor from the WWE, and was found not guilty on a defamation lawsuit filed from an incident in 2014.

The 39-year-old has now dropped his MMA record to 0-2, with both fights having been hosted in the UFC.
