Formerly world ranked heavyweight Razvan Cojanu (16-2, 9 KOs) is back on the world title contention hunt. He delivered an explosive 2nd round KO over local favorite Zhi Yu Wu (7-2, 1 KOs) on Saturday at the Hangzhou Stadium in Hangzhou, China. Wu was a last moment replacement for Alexander Frank (11-0, 9 KOs) of Germany by way of Kazakhstan. After a tactical first round, Cojanu turned things up putting Wu down and out in an instant in round two. The Journeyman Management-managed Cojanu won the vacant WBO China Zone heavyweight title. The show was promoted by Jiashu Chen (China International Boxing Indus).
