Combate Americas has a new home, at least for its English stream.
The US-based MMA promotion geared towards Hispanics has signed a multi-year deal with DAZN, live and on-demand sports streaming platform, to stream its English broadcasts.
MMA Fighting recently learned the news.
The first Combate Americas event to stream on the DAZN platform will be this Friday’s Combate 22, which is set to take place at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Ariz. The event is being headlined by Levy Marroquin vs. Jose Alday for the inaugural bantamweight title.
DAZN will stream a minimum of 13 Combate Americas events per year. Combate Americas’ Spanish broadcast will still remain on Univision Deportes.
The English broadcast team for Combate Americas will be composed of UFC fighters Gilbert Melendez and Julianna Pena, plus sports announcer Max Bretos. Combate Americas will be the second MMA promotion that will stream events on the platform, as earlier this year, Bellator announced a partnership with DAZN.
