If the worse comes to worst, former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor could spend time in jail for his wild frenzy at the UFC 223 media day in Brooklyn, New York.

McGregor, who flew from Ireland to New York last week in pursuit of Khabib Nurmagomedov, injured several people when he threw a dolly through the window of a fighter’s bus at New York’s Barclays Center.

‘The Notorious’ handed himself in to the local police station on Thursday and was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief. On Friday, teammate and friendDillon Danis posted McGregor’s $50,000 bond and the Irishman was released from custody.

McGregor is due another court appearance on June 14, and the 29-year-old recently broke his silence on Instagram with a praying emoji accompanied with a picture of him leaving police custody in Brooklyn.

McGregor’s teammate pictured to the left, Cian Cowley, was also involved in last week’s attack and was charged with one count of assault and one count of criminal mischief.

McGregor injured UFC fighters Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg during the bus attack and both fighters’ respective bouts at UFC 223 were cancelled at the last minute.

McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar, released a statement on Saturday stating that there’s a lot of misinformation surrounding last week’s controversy and that his client looks forward to returning to the Octagon as soon as possible.
