CONSTANTIN BEJENARU RETAINS WBC INTERNATIONAL TITLE

Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing promoter introduced another version of the “Slugfest at The Sun” series at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, topped  by cruiserweight champions Constantin Bejenaru and Thabiso Mchunu, who clashed for the International title of the World Boxing Council, which Bejenaru retained,  in an entertaining fight.

Bejenaru won  a unanimous decision victory over Mchunu, successfully defending his WBC international crown. The bout at certain times was very close, with both fighters offering their very utmost. In the seventh round, Bejenaru tried to demolish Mchunu, but could not finish what he`d started.

The Judges’ scores were: 98-91 and 97-92 twice, all in favor of Bejenaru, who improved his record to 13-0 3KO’S while Mchunu dropped his to 18-4 11KO’S.
