Constantin Bejenaru, (12-0 3KO’S), Brooklyn, NY, scored a dominant 10 round decision win over previously unbeaten New Yorker Stivens Bujaj, (16-1-1 11KO’s), Bronx, NY.  With the victory, Bejanaru captured two prestigious titles, the WBC International and WBC Continental Americas Championships.  The bout was televised live on the Showtime network from The Omega Product Event Center in Corona, CA., as part of the popular ShoBox series.

Bejenaru dominated most of the fight utilizing his speed and angles to frustrate Bujaj.  Bujaj scored a flash knockdown in the 5th round but Bejenaru showed no ill effects and continued his dominance in the 6th round.  It was a hard fought and sometimes dirty fight with numerous headbutts, one of which caused a large hematoma on the right side of Bejenaru’s head.  Bujaj was also deducted a point for hitting on the break in the 9th round.  In the end, all 3 judges had the same scores, 97-91 in favor of the Moldovian fighter Constantin Bejenaru, who has Romania and Moldova excited about their home-grown star.

Promoter Joe DeGuardia had these comments on the fight “I knew this would be a very hard fight for Constantin but I was very confident he would come out on top which he did.  He fought a very smart fight and we expect big things from him in the near future”.
The bout was co-promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and Banner Promotions.
