COP THAT OR YOU’LL COP IT!

With an impressive lineup  of Federal Police Commissioner Manelich Castillo Cravioto, former WBC international champion Irma Garcia and Lucy Sulaiman representing the World Boxing Council, launched the prestigious inauguration of the fourth Security Tournament in loving memory of The Great  “José Sulaiman Chagnon.”

Slap bang in the heart  of the Command Center of the Federal Police of Mexico City. Maestro Manelich thanked  and welcomed everyone,  especially remembering  the man who transformed and humanized boxing and to whom this tournament is dedicated…the unique and unforgettable Don Jose Sulaiman.

An event that, as he said himself, aims to link and unite the security forces in a healthy sports competition, strengthening ties of friendship.

This year there Are 72 participants:  Mexico City, Zacatecas, Coahuila, Veracruz, Sonora, San Luis Potosi, Durango, State of Mexico, Guerrero and Nuevo Leon, as well as the Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA), the Social Readaptation Staff and the Federal Police.

Representing the WBC, Lucy Sulaiman, thanked  all those who have realized  the visionary dream of her Father, in gathering all of the security forces together, in a constellation contest of brotherhood.

Nostalgic and with mixed emotions after the video  of Don José,  Lucy explainec that this competition is a wonderful,poignant  and apt reminder to continue working for Mexico, a country that her Dad loved so very deeply.

Lucy praised the work of the Federal Police, admiring the courage and fortitude of those  men and women who go out each and every day to face challenges spanning so much more than twelve rounds, where there are no rules, or  referees.And in so doing, perpetually risking their lives for us.

Lucy wished great success to all the participants, expressing that for the whole Sulaiman family, they are all assuredly already champions.

The event was attended by former world champions Humberto González, Pipino Cuevas, Rafael Herrera, Lupe Pintor, César Bazán, José Luis Bueno, the WBC female heavyweight champion, Alejandra Jiménez and young  prospect Stephany Dorota.
