Yes, former champion Miguel Cotto himself will lead the corner of his boxer world title challenger Carlos “Chocorroncito” Buitrago as the Nicaraguan battles his 6th attempt to capture a world crown.

Buitrago (32-5-1, 18 KO’s) is set to fight Mexican WBO Light Flyweight World Champion Elwin “La Pulga” Soto (17-1, 12 KO’s) on October 30 @ the Fantasy Spring Resort Casino in Indio, California.

According to boxing reporter Bayron Saavedra, during a live interview with Managua’s Canal 13, Buitrago revealed this novelty:

Miguel Cotto — the pride of Caguas, Puerto Rico, the man who is his promoter, as well as the legendary former boxer on the cards to be inducted into the Canastota Hall of Fame — will be the one to guide him from his corner as he fights the young Mexican Top Gun.

The rumble will be Buitrago’s whopping sixth shot a a world crown, something absolutely not that common.

All of his five tries have ended in failure. Will Cotto’s presence and boxing savvy help him to finally get it?

Fans will find out as Buitrago, 28, assures that he and his team have made the necessary changes in his boxing so that this time he will not to fail. We’ll see.

In addition, Buitrago’s Venezuelan coach 🇻🇪 Luis Escorche shared that “Chocorroncito” has already completed 105 rounds of sparring, and that on October 30 he will peak top physical conditions.

Meanwhile, the tough opponent, Mexican WBO 108-pound world champion Elwin “La Pulga” Soto has also been sweating hard during training in his native Baja California to reach his best possible shape ahead of his 2nd world title defence.

Soto, 23, of Mexicali won his world belt in June of last year, defended it last October and by all means intends to keep it.

Will Miguel Cotto’s amazing experience, inspiration and guidance lead Buitrago to conquer the championship of the world in his 6th try?
