Shannon Courtenay and Ebanie Bridges held their last press conference before Saturday’s bout for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Female Bantamweight title. Both fighters met in London and talked about their expectations for their fight at Wembley Arena.

This will be the first opportunity to fight for a title for both of them. The bout for the black and gold belt is a very important step in their careers and they do not want to miss the opportunity, as they said in their press conference and being interviewed by Eddie Hearn.

Britain’s Courtenay spoke about several topics regarding Saturday’s bout and made clear how important this bout is for her.

“This is more than a fight, it’s a chance to change my life!,” Courtenay said.

Bridges, an Australian native, said she is looking forward to the victory, mentioned that women’s boxing needs to continue growing nowadays and how she wants to do her part.

“Women’s boxing needs more eyes on the sport! I’m bringing in a different look,” said the Australian.

Now, the only thing left for them is the weigh-in ceremony tomorrow and after making 118 pounds, they will be ready for the bout, which will be the co-main fight of Conor Benn’s defense of his WBA Continental title against Samuel Vargas.
