This Saturday, at Madison Square Garden, undefeated WBC super lightweight champion Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford will defend his belt against the only boxing Olympic medalist from the Dominican Republic, Felix Diaz.
“This is going to be a tremendous fight,” said Crawford, backing it up by explaining: “You have a former Olympic champion and a world champion fighting toe to toe. “I know he’s been looking for this fight for a long time, but I do not think it’s personal. When you’re at the top everyone wants your head, that’s why I have to do my best every time I get into the ring.”
And Diaz acknowledges that he has a great challenge ahead, but bets on his boxing skills and also trusts in the extra motivation that his people will be giving him in The Big Apple’.
“He’s one of the very best fighters right now, he’s a great champion, but we are hungry to win the title. I hope to have the full support of the entire Dominican community. Crawford is a great fighter. We must be ready at all times. We`ll both give our absolute best in the ring,” promised Diaz.
