Crawford-Horn headed to ESPN+ as network expands deal with Top Rank

As part of an announcement new ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro made yesterday, the network has amended their existing agreement with Top Rank to add another 12 fight cards which will stream exclusively on the network’s new subscription-based ESPN+ app, set to launch this spring.

Among the 12 cards which will stream exclusively on the app, the recently postponed Crawford-Horn fight was mentioned to be one of them.

“Now is a pretty good time to make an announcement. We have closed an amendment to our partnership with Top Rank Boxing where we will now have exclusive access to stream 12 very, very high quality cards as a part of the ESPN+ app. That will include the upcoming [Terence] Crawford-[Jeff] Horn fight. This is going to be very, very impactful to the ESPN+ experience. We couldn’t be more excited. It’s really, really good news for us.”

ESPN+ is being targeted with a direct-to-consumer strategy, offering multi-sport ESPN content without the need of those pesky cable subscriptions. The app will cost $4.99/month with subscribers gaining access to thousands of live sporting events with both on-demand and original content. And God willing, they won’t be giving Brendan Schaub another platform.
