The fight between former undisputed junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford and WBO welterweight titleholder Jeff Horn has been rescheduled for June 9, still in Las Vegas, but now at the MGM Grand instead of Mandalay Bay, according to ESPN.
Crawford (32-0, 23 KO) was originally set to challenge Horn (18-0-1, 12 KO) on April 14, but a training camp injury to Crawford’s right hand pushed the fight back.
TV-wise, the fight will now go up against the Showtime rematch between Leo Santa Cruz and Abner Mares, which stinks for fans, to be quite honest, as these are two fights people want to see. Reports aren’t clear yet whether Crawford-Horn will air exclusively on the new ESPN+ service, or on ESPN proper.
Crawford, 30, fought twice in 2017, defending two belts against Felix Diaz Jr in May, and then fully unifying the 140-pound division with an easy win over Julius Indongo in August. Horn, also 30, had a huge breakout 2017, beating Manny Pacquiao controversially in July, and following up with a title defense over Gary Corcoran in December.
