The new World Boxing Council flyweight champion, Nicaraguan Cristofer Rosales, visited the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico City in order to give thanks to God for his staggering achievement.
Rosales conquered the flyweight title of the World Boxing Council, with a ninth round TKO of Daigo Higa, who lost the crown on the scales, the day before the match.
Cristofer, cousin of the four-time Nicaraguan world champion Román “Chocolatito” González, achieved an almost perfect, motivated and inspired performance, inflicting an extraordinary defeat upon Higa, who up to that point had a perfect record of 15 knockouts in his 15 professional fights.
