Changsha China-Chinese phenom Dacong Wang showed fellow Chinese warrior Yajie Ding his combo killer skills to convince all judges giving him a unanimous decision (98-92,96-94,99-91) for the WBC Asia Welterweight Interim Silver belt on August 23.
The show was held on an outdoor as the Chinese government is still imposing a ban on the gathering of more than 200 people indoors. Despite the hazard of the pandemic, attendance soared to almost a 1000 attendances last night. Dacong Wang is considered to be one of the boxers with high ring IQs. He was remembered for a scintillating KO over a Korean boxer in South Korea and won a local belt last year. Wang’s combinations and timing were flawless as he sent his opponent rope side several times in the opening rounds.
This title fight is an eye-opener and raises hopes to many professional boxers. Since the pandemic started in January 2020, there were no professional and amateur boxing fights in the whole of China. The government since then looked into specifics before issuing permits to organizations in the sports promotions, hence this first title match of 2020.
The fight was under the supervision of Mr. Aku Zhang of the World Boxing Council and promoted By Jin Hu of Changsha Chaoli Sports Co.Ltd.
